Implement Ribbon Interface

Like Microsoft Word, ribbonizing the toolbars and menus of Expression Web is the right thing to do to simplify a lot the user interface

      • Personally--I have mixed feelings about the ribbon. It's both convenient and frustrating. However--practically speaking--there is zero chance that we'll implement the ribbon in Expression Web. Outside of the philosophical issues, it would be a huge effort that would result in little or no new functionality for the users.

You may want to reallocate your votes.

I strongly vote against it. There are SO MANY reasons why it's not a good idea that I find it difficult to begin. One thing is for sure: I want a lean, mean interface and the Office 2003 kind is the way to go. I am a competitive power user and that means I need access to the functions and features that I need on demand -- not what SOMEONE ELSE THINKS I need -- and I do not need to be handheld and shown what features a product has because I know how to explore the product and find out myself, thanks. If the average joe user wants a candied ribbon to write Web pages then let him just chew on Word and save as HTML. Also, with small and customizable icons and/or menus, I can have SO MUCH MORE functionality in SO MUCH LESS screen space that I almost always laugh aloud when people talk about their adoration of the supposed savings in screen real estate that they have with their ribbons -- and I don't mean when they cheat and hide them.

No no please no.Like Tina I use an app to go back to the old menu system. I don't have any votes left and there is no way to vote AGAINST something.

oh my gawd ....I would hope that someone would then bring out a fix for the ribbon ... i find it extremly hard to use ... and its only because i am now using excel and word more frequently that i am getting to grips with it ... i hate it and have two apps on my home laptop to fix it back but they dont work well .... I will scream and shout (A LOT) about NOT having this and ditto Cheryl I would use ten NO votes to keep this one OUT.

Forget it. This is a developer tool, not a consumer productivity tool.

Word is for print - the web is a completely different animal. If there was a way to vote against an idea this is one I'd spend a vote to discourage.
