I suggest you ...

Make EW PHP Aware

I'd like to be able to Ctrl-Click on a PHP variable, constant, or function and have EW open the defining PHP file. I'd like to be able to Ctrl-Click on a PHP include file and open that file.

This should also include parsing, including, and displaying PHP files in the design view that are included via include, require, and their _once versions.

Totally agree. Until EW provides more thorough support for PHP, I'll have to stick with my current version of Dreamweaver for now.

I have offered many suggestion on how PHP support could be improved in EW. What are the chances any of those items will be addressed some day? I'm using EW a lot less anymore and am primarily using Netbeans because of it's excellent PHP support. What the NetBeans gives up in html and css support is more than made up for it in it's PHP support, Project Management and overall speed on large files. Oh, and NetBeans undo works also.

I wanted to add that Microsoft does not have a PHP-specific tool. Expression Web is really it, but it is a far cry from a full PHP IDE. I think Microsoft will lose a lot of potential customers for EW unless the support for PHP is much, much richer.

My suggestion is thus deeper than just having a few clicking shortcuts to navigate the code. I really want to see EW fully aware of PHP and to be taken seriously as a PHP tool.

This also means being able to easily install a platform with appropriate components such as Apache or ISS; MySQL, MSSQL or PostgreSQL; and "flavors" of PHP (5.2-, 5.3+. or 6).

I can see how this would be useful.
